Vertical Downtown Planned for Mass. Small Town

A $1.6 billion renovation of Quincy, Mass., has gotten underway, with the goal of creating what urban planners call a “dense and vertical” downtown. The redevelopment features towering structures, which aren’t typically used in the suburbs of Boston. The buildings will house not just traditional storefronts and commercial offices, but also new residents.
