If your business is struggling financially, going dark might be the best option for you. Lots of tenants decide to go this route, only to find out that their lease doesn't allow it. Likewise, you might think that you're not required to operate continuously, because your lease doesn't specifically say so—but you could be wrong, says Minnesota attorney Barry W. McKee.
