Report: Calif. Buildings Have Untapped Green Potential

A new report, “Untapped Potential of Commercial Buildings: Energy Use and Emissions,” finds that a significant number of California commercial buildings are not green. According to the study, conducted by independent nonpartisan organization Next 10, the state has no energy-efficiency standards for existing buildings, and requirements for new buildings fall far below what's possible.
