Next summer, Mo.-based Panera Bread will open in The Village at Hendrix, a walkable community made up of mixed-use properties with residences, restaurants, and businesses. Panera Bread, which operates full-service bakery-cafes that serve fresh meals throughout the day, will be the first commercial tenant of the Conway, Ark., community.

Panera Bread will be located in the first floor of a four-story mixed-use building that is accessible to the public. Beth Tyler, the director of marketing for the community says that Panera Bread is a model tenant because it is a popular, well-respected, and widely-known restaurant that is new to the area. The community is planning to add even more similar types of commercial tenants in the near future. In addition to being unique to Conway, Panera Bread has also been successful as a franchise. It has been recognized as one of Business Week's “100 Hot Growth Companies.”
