Ober/Kaler Lease to Fill 100 Light Street Vacancy
National, 125-member law firm Ober/Kaler is relocating its Baltimore office to a 94,213 square-foot site at 100 Light Street, the city’s iconic 35-story city skyscraper formerly known as the Legg Mason building. The building is owned by an affiliate of Lexington Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust focused on single-tenant real estate investments. Lexington is investing $43.1 million to modernize the building, which will include a new parking garage and a redesigned lobby, among other amenities.
Ober/Kaler, which provides integrated regulatory, transactional and litigation services to financial, health care, construction and other business organizations from its Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Falls Church, Va., chose the building for its modern-style offices and views of the Inner Harbor. The lease will begin on July 1, 2010 and continue into 2026, although the law firm will not move into the space until April 1, 2011. With the Ober/Kaler lease, the building will be approximately 44 percent leased.
