Market to Favor Tenants in 2010

A turnaround for the troubled commercial real estate market is not expected to happen anytime soon, but that's not necessarily a bad thing—for tenants.

While commercial property experts predict rising vacancies for office, industrial, retail, and apartment properties, rental rates will fall as a result, leaving tenants in a bargaining position they haven't had the benefit of in decades. Prices that have already declined by 40 percent since 2007 supposedly will decline even further.
