The Lightstone Malls, which is owned and operated by the Lightstone Group, a privately held real estate company with interests in residential, office, retail, and industrial real estate assets, has signed a lease with national operator Carmike Cinemas, Inc. at Shawnee Mall in Shawnee, Okla.

Carmike Cinemas, Inc., a leader in digital cinema and 3-D cinema deployments and one of the nation's largest motion picture exhibitors, focuses on small to mid-sized communities with populations of fewer than 100,000 for its theatre locations. The theatre at Shawnee Mall is scheduled to open in early spring of 2010. The Shawnee Mall, which is located 40 minutes away from Oklahoma City, encompasses 325,000 people who live among 27 zip codes within six counties. Its most popular stores include American Eagle Outfitters, The Buckle, Maurices, Bath & Body Works, Old Navy, and Santa Fe Cattle Co. Restaurant.

“We are very excited to add Carmike Theatres to our portfolio at the Shawnee Mall,” states Carl Chudnofsky, executive vice president of the Lightstone Malls portfolio. “Shawnee Mall is trending ahead of national malls and, with the addition of the theatre and its newest technology in movie entertainment, Shawnee Mall will offer guests the utmost best in the area,” he adds.
