Island Mulls Easing Seawall Gas Station Rules

Several potential gas station operators, including Cincinnati-based supermarket chain Kroger Co., are asking for permission to offer customers fuel at their stores on Galveston, Texas’, famous Seawall Boulevard. Construction of new gas stations in the “Seawall Development Zone,” which includes the boulevard, is prohibited—except for those that were operating before the rule was imposed.
