The recent rash of retail bankruptcies could mean a great opportunity for you. By purchasing leases in bankruptcy court, you may be able to get great lease terms in centers where you otherwise couldn't get space without paying a premium, says Miami attorney Frank L. Eaton. But buying leases in bankruptcy court is a confusing process that most don't fully understand.

The two primary ways to buy leases in bankruptcy court are by auction and private sale.
