Get Right to Freely Sublet to Franchisee

Before you sublet your space, your owner will more than likely require you to get its consent, because it wants full control over who leases space in its buildings. If you happen to be a franchisor, however, you'll want to be able to sublet to the franchisee of your choice, so the owner's consent requirement may seem restrictive, says Toronto attorney Stephen J. Messinger.
