Establish Lease Terms in Letter of Intent

After you decide to rent office building or shopping center space, you absolutely must make lease requests early in the negotiating process—ideally in the letter of intent (LOI). The LOI is a document signed by you and the owner indicating both parties' intent to sign a lease in the future. It states certain agreed-upon terms, as well as the understanding that other terms will be decided later during the formal lease negotiations.
