Determining Correct Lease Term Length

Q The owner of the office space I rent signed a lease with the original tenant of the space more than 20 years ago. The lease was to expire in 2011, but included an option for the tenant to renew for a five-year period. During the original term, the lease was assigned to a string of subsequent tenants and then to me.
