Dark Retail Space Showing Signs of Life

There’s good news for successful retail tenants that are concerned because they’re stuck in malls and shopping centers with many dark storefronts, which hurts foot traffic and limits the mall or center’s hopes of being a so-called “destination” center. The decline in occupancy rates at shopping centers and malls that marked 2017 has stabilized this year, according to commercial real estate experts, who say that the retail industry is poised to stage a comeback after several brutal years.
